PostSubject: Internet Sites Problem   Mon May 04, 2009 9:44 am

As I was trying to check some things I discovered that I might have a serious problem regarding some internet sites.

Basically, I can't open any antivirus site like symantec, avast, kaspersky, bitdefender, eset.. none whatsoever.. i get the page load error screen almost instantaneously. Also happens at microsoft.com. I don't have any active antivirus on my computer, i have symantec but it's always turned off (unloaded). The windows firewall is turned off..

Waiting advices..

I read some google findings.. it's malware/spyware/hijacker shit..

I stumbled upon a forum cybertech.com .. but the instructions there to my problem were so many and i only downloaded malwarebytes anti malware.. found a few infections but the problem is still there..

Anyway, ill check rossa's link later tonight and do some more investigations..

hmmm

1. go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Its an online scanner ... takes half a year to scan on a large hard disk (exaggerated time ofcourse) but gets the job done nicely.

If nothing else it'll be able to identify what you got and how to manually remove it.

2. Once you get it out, INSTALL AVAST!

3. if you can't open Trendmicro website. I'm outta ideas. Thus. Whatever go do to get the virus out. INSTALL AVAST AFTER THAT.

Avast is very VERY light on resources so it doesn't make a difference to gamers/gaming systems.

I strongly advise u to DL Spybot...

u can do it:
1- Here
2- Here

P.S.: i send 2 links, so in case one doesnt work...the other will!

Just be carefull using it..Spybot will detect "any" treath on ur PC...even if its not...very good tool but u have to know wht ur doing!!

SLAP You for not havin any AntyVirus bfr !!! Its must have not... Yahoo messenger :P

Facts:
System installed with NOD32. Avast found 1500 files in the root with viruses in them. (Personal Experience)
4 Years been running Avast on this system. Not 1 virus, not once.

and my personal fav fact. Eset currently running in my office. Plugged in a USB i KNEW had viruses just to check if it caught on. It didn't.

Avast caught them as soon as it was plugged in.

trust me dude, Avast i like cuz its tried and tested.

Worst is kaspersky/symantec - 1st i never had longer then 1 week windows, with second - 1 week to max 1 month. NOD32 - he didnt found many trojans too. As long as i have oryginal windows with automatically updates + avast! i didnt had any virus during few last years. And have old windows instalation now, like 2 years ago or more i installed last time :)
Sometimes scanning system with Ad-Aware - in old times it helped me few times too.

You can imagine what websites many customers visited....
I had hard work every weekend to clear all sh1t that entered thru avast...
so i decided to pay for NOD32 and it helped me alot givin me a break...
